"The Incat shipyard"

    The Company

Incat is the builder of the world’s benchmark in high speed ships with fast Wave Piercing Catamarans in commercial and military service around the globe, carrying passengers, vehicles and freight, and providing high speed marine transportation solutions for a wide range of applications.

The Incat group of companies is privately owned, with shares held by the founder and chairman of the board Robert Clifford, the Clifford family, company directors and employees.

Think fast - think light is a philosophy often heard at Incat: lightweight aluminium construction, streamlined hull shapes and constant attention to research and development has seen product developments produce a range of Wave Piercing Catamarans with dramatically increased payload as the size of the craft has grown over four decades of experience in the ferry and ship construction industry.

Incat’s shipyard is on Prince of Wales Bay at Derwent Park near Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The facility incorporates more than 70,000 m2 of undercover production halls, with two dry-dock areas capable of accommodating up to six vessels under construction.

A reputation for quality and excellence in production is supported by an experienced and dedicated workforce.

    MISSION STATEMENT

To maintain our position as the world’s leading fast passenger/car ferry builder into the next century. To focus on customer needs and particular route requirements, providing the total, fast and safe transportation solution. To excel in customer service, after sales service and to deliver our vessels on time and on budget.

Incat will achieve its objective through:

    • Continually improving the quality and commitment of our people

    • Systematically developing high performing teams that function with co-operation and mutual support, which encourage and foster more participation and consultation in the workplace

    • Creating a product mix which pursues excellence in quality control, flattens production peaks and improves standardisation without reducing the flexibility of servicing specific customer requirements

    • Ensuring our management and supervisory teams are respected and seen as well organised, supportive and good communicators.

The Incat name will be synonymous with quality and excellence.
